About Lidl

Lidl entered the Northern Irish market in 1999, opening its very first store in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone. Today, that has grown to 44 stores, a major distribution hub, and over 1,500 team members across the region. This year, Lidl announced plans to invest £500 million to upgrade current stores and open new ones, aiming for more than 60 locations by 2032. Every time a new £8 million store opens, it creates 30 permanent jobs, supports over 150 construction roles, and pays out £1 million in local wages each year. Beyond helping families save money on their food shopping, Lidl is committed to giving back to local communities, including donating £500,000 and volunteering time to support Age NI’s vital work with older people.
